This past week I have had a lot of time to think and a lot of time to see new and interesting things. One of my housemates family had come to stay with us. My other housemate Judit and I moved out of the house into a supervisors house for the two weeks that we have for the Easter holiday. The house that we moved into is wonderful and twice the size of the house that we live in, in Peckham. It has been a real treat to stay here, to have more space and such a beautiful area as well. A bit over a week ago the CEO of Springboard had arranged for the full time volunteers to see the Houses of Parliament. This was a big thing to see in my time over here. This is something that not everyone is able to go into and see. She had arranged this through an MP that she knows. There was so much to see and such an opportunity to see. Something that you see as a large part of London and we were able to go inside and get to see some MP's walking around.
Also this past week we went to the Royal Albert Hall to see the Messiah. We saw that on Good Friday. Was a wonderful performance. The orchestra and choir were a delight to hear and see. Our hopes are to see them again for the first night of the Proms. HOPE!!
Easter Sunday, we went to a service a Westminster Abby. They had probably 400-600 people in the Abby. Most of the songs that we sung were songs that we would sing back home for our service. Was a bit different as they have the boys choir that sings and they are something special to hear as well. When we walked out of the Abby a few min. after all of the people were out they had people play the church bells. This is special because they ring the bells by hand. I wouldn't have thought that they were pulled by hand, because that is something that you don't hear very often and to hear it from such a wonderful church.
This past week has been a lot of sight seeing, due to the fact that we have two weeks off for the Easter holiday. We still have another week to go!
Missing my children a bit though and want to get back to teaching them.
